If yes, you’ve been absolutely wrong all these time, Wellness is not just about being free from illness. It is about making conscious effort or decisions in your daily choices to live a balanced and fulfilling life.

Irrespective of your status, you can achieve wellness – whether you’re a stay at home mom or a full-time working adult. You don’t need to have to have a lot of money or time to be able to.

Every one of us has the access to wellness if only we choose to. It simply starts with one choice after another.

  1. Eat fruits With Breakfast

Fruits are incredible food that provides many health benefits. They are also rich in nutrients that are good for the brain, digestion and for preventing diseases.

They’re a source of grown food keep you fuller when you eat them than processed meals.

You can add a cup of your choice fruit to either a smoothie or an oatmeal. It will refresh and fuel you for the day.

2.Eat One Green Food per Day

Eating at least a portion of green vegetable daily is a great way to get yourself healthier. They provide more nutrition, promote mental wellness and protect the body from major forms of diseases.

Be it a cup of lettuce at dinner or spinach snuck into a smoothie, it counts. Just be sure it’s green, natural and from the earth.

3. Drink a Glass of Water When You Wake Up

Drinking water as the first thing when you wake up is important to the body. It is a good way to hydrate and flush out toxins from the body after a night fast.

Importantly, the body needs more water than you realize. Be sure you’re giving your body enough of it!

5. Use Herbs Instead of All the Salt

Instead of sprinkling salt on all your food, flavour your foods with herbs. You can use ginger for a sweet and spicy flavour or use Italian seasonings like black pepper, cayenne and turmeric. You can even try some pepper, basil and thyme.

Use these herbs more often and however you like. They’re some of the best ingredients that provide antioxidants, mood-boosting benefits and even anti-cancer benefits.

6. Ditch the Sugary Food

Sugary foods are really bad for the health mostly because they’re processed, they lack nutrients and can be addictive. It also ages your skin, affects your digestion and doesn’t satisfy your appetite.

So, instead of sugary foods, give yourself a chance to have snacks like apple, banana or an orange.

You’ll feel much better in no time.

7. Don’t Sit Too Much

Sitting is not bad, but it is important that you don’t sit for too long because it can make you tired, increases your insulin levels and may also slow down your metabolism.

If you like to watch television, try not to sit there for hours while doing so. You need to stand more throughout the day – even if it’s while chatting with friends or while talking on the phone.

If you work sitting in front of a computer all day, get up and move around or try to stand while working.

Your body lives to move, so give it what it needs.

8. Do Some Sort of Stretching Per Day

Stretching is one of the most underrated exercises that improves the mood. It releases muscle tension, prevents muscle cramps, improves blood flow and also keeps your digestion working well.

Even if it’s just for a couple of minutes, stretch in the morning a little and a little more at night before bed. It will make you feel better.

9. Spend a Little Time Outside Walking or Jogging

Spending a little time outside engaged in an activity is a great way to lift your spirits. You can walk, jog or take a stroll around your neighbourhood or through a local park, it will get you in touch with nature.

Moving gives energy to your body, improves your metabolism and also help you to focus better throughout the day.

 10. Eat Magnesium-Rich Foods

Magnesium is important to your body because it increases your mental wellness not to mention the host of other benefits it has for your body.

Consume earthy foods that are rich in magnesium like leafy greens, nuts, seeds, cacao, bananas, avocado and sweet potatoes.

11. Eat Good Fats

Healthy fats are like fuel for a good mood. They’re important in your diet. Healthy fats also promote good heart health, reduces cholesterol and contain none of the harmful side effects associated with animal-based saturated fats. Choose raw coconut, avocados, almonds, walnuts, flax seeds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and olives. Many of these are also packed with protein, B vitamins, and magnesium to enhance brain health even further.

12. Eat Your B Vitamins

Daily vitamins are a must for anyone, especially your B vitamins. It reduces stress in the brain, promotes energy, and enhances focus.

If you eat a plant-based diet, you can easily get enough of your B vitamins. Some of the best sources of B vitamins include: nuts, seeds, leafy greens, avocados, root vegetables, coconut, bananas, pumpkin, berries, legumes, and whole grains.

Mix these up throughout the day to give your body the boost it needs to get started and help your mind stay focused throughout the day.

13. Get Enough Sleep

Adequate sleep is just as important as the food on your plate. It’s the time of the day when your body resets itself, detoxifies and allows you to conquer the next day ahead.

If you deprive yourself of sleep, it may lead to depression, weight gain, stress and even food cravings.

Don’t just yourself by how much sleep you need, instead, get enough until you wake up without the need for an alarm clock.
