TG Arla Nigeria has announced its intervention worth N150 Million to support the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria in combating the spread of the global pandemic.
This intervention includes a cash donation of N100 Million through our operating partners – The Tolaram group to the private sector coalition committee established by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the distribution of N50 Million worth of products free to Nigerians as a way of supporting them to stay healthy and safe during this period.
As a result of the pandemic, several cities within Nigeria have been locked down. Residents of these cities include low-income earners and vulnerable residents within the society have been in a state of anxiety and panic since they depend on daily income for food. This has fueled the product donation to touch several of these affected residents. About 50,000 households would benefit from the donation of the N50 Million worth of products. We have also partnered with Lagos Food Bank – an NGO credibly known for tackling food insecurity and providing emergency food relief across Nigeria, who have begun distribution of the products directly to these communities.
We commend the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and most importantly the health workers who are at the forefront of efforts aimed at containing and managing the spread of the virus. We should continue to look after one another in these trying times and would defeat this pandemic together.
